The Next Life Saved Could Be Yours

The Rotary Club of Hanlaei Bay is donating 40 Automatic External Defibrillators (or AED’s) to the communities of Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau. This life-saving equipment is to be donated and installed in either public or private facilities in population centers with prolonged response time of emergency 911 personnel. The AED restarts the heart in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest and is a key element in the survival of victims when it is used in conjunction with CPR.  The Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay is also working with the Kaua‘i Fire Department to train and familiarize people in the community with CPR and the use of AED’s. In 2018, this program has already donated and placed 23 AED’s in the community and trained 200 people to use them and administer CPR. Again, this life-saving program is free and available to anyone. To learn more about this program, acquiring an AED, receiving free CPR / AED training  or donating money to help support the program, please contact Dr. Jeff Goodman at (808) 828-1470

Kilauea Community Agricultural Center

Aina Ho’okupu o Kīlauea

Imagine a place the community can gather for everyday family outings and celebrations, first birthday luaus, picnics, community meetings and more. The new Kīlauea Community Agriculture Center and Farmer’s Market Pavilion will offer a free of charge public gathering place, surrounded by the beautiful bounty of agricultural lands. The one-acre Rotary Park, complete with a Gazebo, will entice locals to stop by and enjoy the ambiance of a well-tended food forest and agricultural fields.

Our Club Commitment

The Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay is committed to raising funds $275,000 for the Farmers Market Pavilion and a one-acre Rotary Park. The pavilion is comprised of two covered gathering spaces very similar to the Hanalei Bay Pier.  The Rotary Park is a one-acre community park, complete with a gazebo and landscaping.

The gazebo was funded in 2017 and the constuction completed in 2018.
