The Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay had a vision to create a resource for seniors, known as Kupuna in Hawaii, to facilitate health and wellness. Through the magic of a grant from AARP, a FitLot was installed in record time (from grant to completion. The FitLot is and outdoor exercise circle where seniors gather for senior exercise with other seniors.
The 42' diameter exercise circle is specifically designed for the needs of seniors, and the FitLot was installed in 2022 with a generous $250,000 grant from and donations from individuals and island organizations.
The Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay has adopted a stretch of highway from the Princeville shopping mall to the spa. On the first Saturday of every month you'll find the regular crew out there keeping our highways clean on this notoriously dirty part of the highway as trash blows off of loads destined for the nearby transfer station.
Volunteer with us and help keep Kauaʻiʻs nature, animals and ocean clean. Join us at 8:00 am at the Princeville Foodland the first Saturday of every month.
Each Year the Rotary of Club of Hanalei Bay supports tutoring and post-secondary education for Kauaʻi's youth through a number of scholarship funds.
These funds include:
The Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay installed an amazing False Kamani table hand-crafted by Rotarian Terry Wells as a community gathering place inside the Rotary Gazebo within our 1-acre Rotary Park located in the Kīlauea Community Agricultural Center.
The Kīlauea Community Agricultural Center works to contribute to island food security and to a healthy, stable, balanced local agricultural economy on its 75 acres.
As part of our mission to build out the Rotary Park, we developed the sponsor-a-tree program. For a $250 donation, we'll plant a tree on your behalf, dedicated to you or a loved one, to support the work and mission of the Kīlauea Community Agricultural Center.

The Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay has donated over 50 Automatic External Defibrillators (or AED’s) to the communities of Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau and continue to maintain and support ongoing training for use. Training is free and available to anyone.
The AED restarts the heart in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest and is a key element in the survival of victims when it is used in conjunction with CPR.
Our plan is to now support neighbourhoods with the purchase, installation, training and maintenance of AEDS for at home use where most cardiac events occur.
Working with Child Welfare Services in the County of Kauai each year the Rotarians of Hanalei Bay purchase, wrap and deliver holiday gifts to over a hundred foster children on Kaua‘i.
We surprised over 100 children with Christmas gifts in 2021.
