Imagine a place the community can gather for everyday family outings and celebrations, first birthday luaus, picnics, community meetings and more. The new Kīlauea Community Agriculture Center Farmer’s Market Pavilion will offer a free of charge public gathering place, surrounded by the beautiful bounty of agricultural lands. The one-acre Rotary Park, complete with a Gazebo, will entice locals to stop by and enjoy the ambiance of a well-tended food forest and agricultural fields.
The Rotary Club of Hanalei Bay is committed to raising funds for the Farmers Market Pavilion, North Shore Food Pantry and a one-acre Rotary Park. The Rotary Park is a one-acre community park, complete with a gazebo and landscaping. Rotarians work at the park every Saturday, planting, weeding and being stewards of this small portion of the Kīlauea Community Agricultural Center.
The KCAC gazebo was funded in 2017 and constructed in 2018. See the article describing the dedication.
Would you like to sponsor a tree and dedicate it a loved one at the same time? For as little as $250 you can help sustain the environment and support the Kīlauea Community Agricultural Center via the Hanalei Bay Rotary Club by sponsoring a tree in the Park area. Your tree or shrub will have the name of your loved one affixed to the tree along with a tag naming the common, scientific and Hawaiian names of the plant. Only one patron name will be attached to any one plant. Please join other visitors and fans of the garden to help in this important project.
The trees on the perimeter of the Ag Park are examples from the tropical South Pacific as well as Asia, the South, Central and the Caribbean. Most have beautiful flowers and provide shade, fruit, nuts, and or lumber. Click to view our tree list. You may want to look them up on the web for more information, too.
